Job Description

Electrical/Software Engineer position at Fischer Panda Generators in Pompano Beach, FL onsite, focusing on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded control solutions for diesel generator systems.

Responsibilities

Design and implement embedded hardware and software for diesel generator control systems using C and related languages.
Develop Windows applications for end-of-line testing and production environments.
Interface with hardware components including sensors, actuators, CANbus, Modbus, and additional protocols.
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to integrate software with generator systems.
Write and execute software test plans, perform debugging, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
Ensure software compliance with applicable military, marine, and RV regulatory standards.
Maintain project documentation and version control using Git, SVN, and related tools.
Participate in field testing and provide support to production and service teams as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience developing embedded software, preferably in power systems or generator controls.
Proficiency in C with experience using embedded development tools such as Keil, IAR, or Eclipse.
Experience with microcontroller-based system design and hardware interfacing.
Familiarity with CANbus, J1939, Modbus, RS-485, and related communication protocols.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Deep understanding of electronic development from device to board level; familiarity with advanced ECAD tools such as KiCAD or Pulsonix.

Requirements
