Responsibilities
- Plan, report, and technically manage the PLC Controls Engineering portion of projects
- Lead Engineer or engineering team member handling multiple projects with limited supervision
- Assess project success across financial, technical, and timeline dimensions
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and manage scope, budget, and schedule
- Execute all on site test plans, including internal tests and customer acceptance stages
- Apply a prescriptive methodology to project tasks
- Coordinate with engineering teams to complete project tasks
- Prepare or update reports and documentation
- Attend weekly team meetings and monitor task timelines
- Maintain internal and external customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of controls engineering experience in a similar role
- Leadership experience (Project Lead, Project Manager, Supervisor, Team Lead, or similar)
- Experience leading a program or multiple projects concurrently
- Ability and willingness to travel 60-70% of the time
- Experience with E-Commerce Material Handling Systems
- PLC programming and electrical design for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Beckhoff PLCs
- Codesys and ladder logic programming proficiency
- Servo and motion control experience
- VFD programming and setup
- Network protocols: Serial, EtherNet/IP, Profinet
- Warehouse control system software interfaces and protocols
- HMI design experience with Aveva Edge, Rockwell FTV Studio, or Ignition
- Scanner and machine vision interfaces (SICK, Cognex, Datalogic)
- Project planning and budgeting capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
