Pre-Sales Technical Support Engineer

In this hybrid role based in Irving, TX, you will support the sales organization by shaping and validating connectivity and IoT solutions for customer needs. The position includes substantial client engagement, hands-on technical work, and travel for demonstrations, proofs of concept, and training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical pre-sales advisor to support customer engagements, solution design, and deal qualification.
• Allocate approximately 50% of time to client-facing activities including meetings, presentations, demos, and workshops.
• Travel up to 50% for customer sites, partner locations, and industry events.
• Consult clients and internal stakeholders on device and solution technical topics.
• Design and propose end-to-end IoT and networking solutions aligned with customer requirements.
• Deliver technical presentations, conduct product demonstrations, and support proof-of-concept (PoC) deployments.
• Assist with integrating Teltonika Networks products into customer environments through hands-on guidance.
• Collaborate with sales, product management, and R&D teams to align solutions with market needs.
• Identify customer pain points and recommend optimized technical solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, proposals, and solution architectures.
• Run training sessions and workshops for clients, partners, and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during pre-sales and pilot phases.
• Act as a liaison between customers and Teltonika Networks R&D for complex technical requirements.
• Work hands-on with Linux-based systems, industrial protocols, networking technologies, and third-party integrations.

Requirements

• Technical or engineering degree in Networking, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical role is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and internet technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/FTP, and related concepts.
• Knowledge of telecommunication systems, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and LTE.
• Hands-on experience with routers and networking equipment.
• Experience configuring VLANs and QoS.
• Experience configuring VPN technologies including IPSec, L2TP, OpenVPN, DMVPN, and SSTP.
• Experience configuring firewalls (IPTABLES or similar).
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems, preferably OpenWRT or embedded environments.
• Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation and solution designs.
• Programming/scripting basics (bash/ash) and understanding of AT commands.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with industrial networking or IoT deployments is a strong advantage.
