Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year architectural vision for the travel platform, ensuring alignment with product and business goals.
- Set the direction for AI coding agents adoption, governance, and optimization across engineering teams.
- Make high-impact architecture and technology investment decisions, balancing scalability, reliability, security, cost, and speed with organization-wide implications.
- Create the agentic framework by evolving prompt libraries, MCP server ecosystems, agent governance, and quality gates for AI-generated code.
- Design enterprise MCP interactions so AI agents securely interface with internal APIs, databases, infrastructure, and third-party services throughout their lifecycle.
- Assess frontier AI models and emerging frameworks, delivering build-vs-buy-vs-integrate guidance that informs the roadmap.
- Lead the most complex cross-cutting technical initiatives from concept through production across teams and domains.
- Define modernization paths that transform legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native, agent-ready services.
- Establish SLO frameworks and operational excellence practices to protect the platform during rapid growth.
- Define security architecture and collaborate with Risk, Security, and Compliance on AI governance and responsible-use policies.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and cultivate the next generation of technical leadership.
Requirements
- More than 12 years of full-stack development and architectural experience with a proven record of company-wide technical leadership.
- Advanced proficiency with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, with demonstrated organizational adoption impact.
- Expertise in at least two of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET.
- Deep knowledge of modern web applications, RESTful API design, distributed systems, and microservices at scale.
- Proven track record architecting enterprise-scale cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including multi-region and hybrid deployments.
- Deep expertise in the Model Context Protocol (MCP), including enterprise MCP server architectures with secure, governed agent access.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and advanced CI/CD practices including progressive delivery and feature flags.
- History of developing engineering leaders and elevating an organization’s technical capability.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for executives, product, and business audiences.
- An advanced degree is a plus but not required; demonstrated impact and depth of knowledge are prioritized.
