Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Data Analytics Engineer for a hybrid role based in Melbourne, Florida. This position focuses on designing and building automated end-to-end ETL pipelines and analytics solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to advance analytics capabilities and deliver impactful insights in a complex, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes across multiple data sources.
  • Design and optimize analytics-ready data models, including star, snowflake, and data vault schemas for reporting.
  • Establish robust data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure the reliability of downstream insights.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into technical specifications.
  • Create reusable, documented analytics code libraries and SDKs to accelerate self-service analytics.
  • Institute practices in version control, testing, and CI/CD for data workflows.
  • Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to the analytics stack.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy policies, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, KPI scorecards, and ad-hoc querying tools for executive and operational audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field, OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field, OR Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Proficiency developing and deploying Tableau dashboards and translating business needs into visual insights.
  • Experience with version control and Agile software development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active US Government Secret clearance required to apply, with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearances.

Compensation ranges

  • Primary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
  • Secondary level salary range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
