Production Engineering/ Operation/mfg. Engineer

Advantest invites candidates to join as a Production Engineering, Operation, or Manufacturing Engineer in a full time on-site role on the second shift at our South Plainfield, NJ location. This position emphasizes hands-on process support, data driven decision making, and collaboration with engineering peers to sustain efficient production and consistent quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-production and post-production workflows by organizing assets, preparing materials, and keeping project trackers up to date.
• Collect, clean, and structure production data from multiple sources such as performance metrics, workflow logs, and content outputs.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Create straightforward dashboards or reports to visualize key insights for the production team.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date datasets to support informed decision making.
• Analyze production timelines, resource utilization, and throughput to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide weekly or monthly summaries of production performance metrics.
• Assist in developing data driven recommendations to improve efficiency, quality, and output consistency.
• Maintain organized records and documentation for all assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• Basic proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with analytics or visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
• Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python, R, or SQL is helpful but not required.
• Comfortable working with datasets, performing basic cleaning, and generating simple reports.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with engineers and peers.
• Self-motivated, punctual, and organized.
