Job Description
T & B Engineering is looking to expand its Riverside team with a mid-level Professional Engineer who specializes in civil and structural disciplines. In this role, you will perform comprehensive structural calculations and support the Principal Structural Engineer on building design projects across K‑12 facilities, municipal and public works initiatives, and select residential assignments. The position calls for an independent work style, strong communication, and the ability to manage tasks to meet project deadlines onsite in Riverside.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete sets of structural calculations for assigned projects
- Develop sound engineering decisions and assist in resolving design challenges
- Ensure all work conforms to applicable codes, standards, and company procedures
- Utilize engineering software such as Enercalc, RISA, RAM, and Excel
- Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and field questions
- Review and respond to DSA or plan check comments
- Coordinate structural plans with architectural and MEP drawings
- Provide clear electronic markups for drafting staff and assist in preparing DSA submittal packages
- Perform site visits and prepare structural observation or assessment reports
- Communicate effectively, manage deadlines, and work under the direction of the Owner and Principal Structural Engineer
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Active California P.E. license
- Experience designing wood, steel, masonry, and concrete
- Familiarity with the 2025 California Building Code and willingness to adapt to upcoming code changes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
