Project Engineer

EVCO PLASTICS is seeking a Project Engineer to support customer programs on site in Calhoun, GA. This role leads cross-functional coordination from concept through launch, with an emphasis on maintaining disciplined communication, project schedules, and technical alignment. The position is especially suited for candidates with plastic injection molding experience who value stable, repeatable production outcomes.

In this position, you will own the planning and follow-through that keeps programs moving, while collaborating across engineering, quality, and operations to ensure tooling, process development, and validation are executed in step with launch requirements. You will also use data and structured problem-solving to support continuous improvement during and after launch.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and risk/issue logs, driving actions to closure.
• Coordinate tooling, process development, and validation work across engineering, quality, and operations.
• Manage customer and internal communication, including status updates, documentation, and change control.
• Apply data and structured problem-solving to support continuous improvement during and after launch.

Requirements

• 5+ years plastics experience.
• 5+ years project management experience.
• Plastic injection molding experience is required.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Start on the production floor with brief check-ins to confirm priorities, open items, and upcoming milestones.
• Move between engineering workspaces, meetings, and manufacturing areas, translating technical details into clear stakeholder updates.
• Review schedules and track progress against project gates, aligning timing across tooling, trials, and documentation.
• Stay close to build readiness by monitoring small signals that could affect launch timing.
• For programs requiring plastic injection molding experience, connect observations from trials and production runs back to the project plan so decisions are made quickly and recorded cleanly.
