Project Engineer

Join Evergreen Fire and Security to design integrated low-voltage security solutions and support projects for customers across the Tacoma, WA area.

Responsibilities

• Design Electronic Security System (ESS) projects with a focus on accurate, complete CAD drawings, bid reviews, and cut buildouts
• Assess electrical systems, products, and components using research and engineering knowledge to meet Federal, State, and local regulations, codes, and specifications
• Verify system and component capabilities by creating testing methods and performing tests
• Provide engineering and technical information to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support System Engineers, Technicians, and Project Managers through the design process
• Collaborate with peer groups to develop, draft, and finalize competitive proposals
• Maintain a comprehensive library to stay current on applicable regulations, codes, and specifications
• Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, and complete system certification courses
• Maintain and obtain required certifications
• Assist Business Development with presenting technical and security solutions to clients
• Keep Project Managers fully informed on technical solutions, including documentation and specifications
• Travel to job sites for compliance checks, proposal deliveries, customer satisfaction assessments, and detailed site surveys
• Provide estimates and proposals for customer submission
• Submit regular status reports to the Director of Engineering or assigned Supervisor
• Ensure consistent use of company-standard tools and software
• Travel to job sites for hands-on experience, troubleshooting, and technical assistance
• Perform site surveys or visits that may require CONUS and OCONUS travel

Requirements

• BA/BS in Engineering or related field
• Working knowledge of system layouts, wiring diagrams, and construction documents
• Great communication skills for customer-facing interfaces
• Strong collaboration skills
• Willingness to travel
• Valid enhanced driver’s license
• Ability to pass pre-employment and continuing random background, drug, and MVR screenings

Nice-to-Haves

• 2–5 years of experience in low-voltage systems, physical security, or a related field (e.g., access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, fire alarm, or electrical)
• Strong field experience supporting installation, service, or commissioning of security or life safety systems
• Prior experience working on military installations

Salary: USD 85,000 - 110,000 per year for well-qualified candidates.
