Project Engineer
Job Description
Join Evergreen Fire and Security to design integrated low-voltage security solutions and support projects for customers across the Tacoma, WA area.
Responsibilities
- Design Electronic Security System (ESS) projects with a focus on accurate, complete CAD drawings, bid reviews, and cut buildouts
- Assess electrical systems, products, and components using research and engineering knowledge to meet Federal, State, and local regulations, codes, and specifications
- Verify system and component capabilities by creating testing methods and performing tests
- Provide engineering and technical information to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Support System Engineers, Technicians, and Project Managers through the design process
- Collaborate with peer groups to develop, draft, and finalize competitive proposals
- Maintain a comprehensive library to stay current on applicable regulations, codes, and specifications
- Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, and complete system certification courses
- Maintain and obtain required certifications
- Assist Business Development with presenting technical and security solutions to clients
- Keep Project Managers fully informed on technical solutions, including documentation and specifications
- Travel to job sites for compliance checks, proposal deliveries, customer satisfaction assessments, and detailed site surveys
- Provide estimates and proposals for customer submission
- Submit regular status reports to the Director of Engineering or assigned Supervisor
- Ensure consistent use of company-standard tools and software
- Travel to job sites for hands-on experience, troubleshooting, and technical assistance
- Perform site surveys or visits that may require CONUS and OCONUS travel
Requirements
- BA/BS in Engineering or related field
- Working knowledge of system layouts, wiring diagrams, and construction documents
- Great communication skills for customer-facing interfaces
- Strong collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel
- Valid enhanced driver’s license
- Ability to pass pre-employment and continuing random background, drug, and MVR screenings

Nice-to-Haves
- 2–5 years of experience in low-voltage systems, physical security, or a related field (e.g., access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, fire alarm, or electrical)
- Strong field experience supporting installation, service, or commissioning of security or life safety systems
- Prior experience working on military installations
U.S. Citizenship / Contractor Access Requirements

Salary: USD 85,000 - 110,000 per year for well-qualified candidates.
