Project Engineer

The Project Engineer at FourQuest Energy is an onsite, technical role focused on developing and executing specialized engineering procedures, coordinating across client and operations teams, and supporting procedure approvals, logistics, and bid-related engineering tasks.

Location and Schedule

• Work location: The Woodlands, TX (onsite)
• Job type: Full-time
• Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Field work: Approximately 50% of the time on job sites, with shifts up to 12 hours
• Weekend work: As needed based on project demands
• Travel: 50–75% travel (up to approximately 40 weeks per year) depending on client needs, with flexibility to travel on short notice

Responsibilities

• Develop cleaning, flushing, testing, and other specialized procedures.
• Address technical challenges related to momentum, mass and energy transport, flow of fluids in piping, fluid mixing, and fluid compressibility using chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, and related physical and natural sciences.
• Complete engineering calculations including cleaning force ratio for compressible and non-compressible flow, fluid velocity, and volume and mass flow rates, along with reaction force, and heat and mass transfer calculations.
• Develop non-standard service procedures.
• Discuss procedure options, process, and requirements with the client to develop a cleaning plan, including recommendations on process and procedures.
• Serve as a liaison between operations and clients on site, providing updates to both parties on project status.
• Manage procedure execution, equipment, and manpower in conjunction with the Project Manager and supervise procedure execution onsite to ensure Operations meets client needs.
• Review and approve procedures and procedural changes by Field Engineers.
• Verify logistics for engineering procedures.
• Provide initial bid assessments by calculating system volumes and lengths, determining equipment requirements, and outlining basic job methodology.
• Research and coordinate equipment and materials from vendors as required.
• Support RFQ preparation by liaising with Operations, Sales, and Proposals, including attending sales meetings and presenting to the client.
• Ensure Health, Safety, and quality requirements are met, including active participation in FourQuest Health & Safety policies and practices.
• Communicate HSE issues or concerns to the Manager or Supervisor and provide constructive solutions.
• Ensure client safety obligations are executed as specified in agreements and communicated to relevant parties.
• Work with Engineering leadership to set, execute, and monitor company business goals and policies.
• Ensure adherence to FourQuest’s Quality Management Systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering Sciences (Chemical or Mechanical)
• P.E. (asset) or EIT
• License Class C
• Eligible to work legally in the USA
• Ability to travel and work internationally
• Valid passport or ability to obtain a passport
• Ability to pass regular Drug and Alcohol Testing
• Ability to pass a background security check

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas field service related to FourQuest Energy service lines
• 3 to 5 years of experience in commissioning, pre-commissioning and/or start up
• Eligible for P.E. or EIT status
