Project Engineer III/Sr - Facilities
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Set project boundaries and drive early-stage development
- Provide technical stewardship from design through construction and startup
- Act as the primary liaison among Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Construction
- Define project scope, validate sites, and assess constructability
- Review designs including P&IDs, equipment, and layouts to ensure standards are met
- Support bids, resolve field issues, and assist with commissioning and startup
- Instill upfront cost discipline and drive reliability and performance improvements
- Lead cross-functional teams translating operations needs into practical designs
- Manage a diverse set of sophisticated assignments requiring experience, innovation and judgment
- May supervise team members
- Apply specialized technical expertise to large-scale projects and deliver results
- Prepare and present technical information to stakeholders
- Anticipate internal and external customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions
- Translate business challenges into improvements for products, processes, or services
- Collaborate to ensure compliance, develop improvement plans, and address training needs
- Champion established processes, procedures, and safety standards
- Monitor and control project costs and resources
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution; if the degree is in engineering technology, a Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Experience: At least eight years of multifaceted engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical sector
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least seven years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry and PE certification
