Senior Accident Reconstruction Engineer

J.S. Held LLC seeks an experienced Senior Accident Reconstruction Engineer to lead complex investigations and deliver clear, actionable analyses for clients. This onsite role in Baltimore, MD blends technical depth with client-facing responsibilities, mentoring opportunities, and the potential to serve as a testifying expert. The position offers a salary range of USD 80,000 to 150,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accident reconstruction projects and direct client engagements from initiation through completion.
• Perform unbiased field investigations and testing of incidents and loss events.
• Present technical findings, analyses, and conclusions in a timely manner, translating complex concepts for non technical audiences, in written and verbal form.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities.
• Travel for inspections, field work, marketing, and business development activities.
• Keep clients and project teams informed about status and scope of assigned projects.
• Maintain and expand technical and professional knowledge by attending continuing education, industry seminars, and relevant publications, and participating in professional organizations.
• Consistently meet or exceed established performance metrics and goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering field (preferred).
• Minimum of five years of post academic engineering experience.
• Foundation of testifying experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing technical reports is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and a results-driven mindset.
• Experience leading teams is preferred.
• Analytical, mathematically inclined with the ability to adapt to new environments or scenarios quickly.
• Proficiency with software and technical systems.
• Willingness and ability to obtain additional licensure and certification.
• Ability to work remotely or travel to various job sites with reliable connectivity.
• Commitment to exceeding minimum performance and goals.
• Licensed PE, or ability to obtain within one year.
• ACTAR certification or ability to obtain within one year.
• Ability to travel to different regions throughout the United States.
