Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Senior Agentic AI Full Stack Software Engineer to design, deploy, and sustain components of an AI analytics stack. The role includes building frontends, production APIs, AI workflow interfaces, and the underlying data layer, supporting prototyping and delivery of AI-enabled analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code in alignment with established coding standards and best practices.
  • Lead technical design and implementation of AI-enabled web applications and analytics using Streamlit, React, or similar technologies.
  • Integrate AI and large language model capabilities into applications and workflows, including prompting, tool calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns.
  • Design, develop, and integrate APIs, including FastAPI-based services, to enable system-to-system communication.
  • Build and maintain user interfaces that support access to complex AI, data, and analytics capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployments using Docker to support repeatable builds and reliable releases.
  • Develop with and maintain relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, supporting data integrity and performance.
  • Implement and maintain version control with Git to streamline collaboration and code management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, develop, test, and deliver new features across the software life cycle.
  • Ensure solutions meet high standards for security, quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute across the end-to-end software development life cycle, including concept, design, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency writing clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code.
  • Experience building AI-enabled web applications, analytic dashboards, or user workflows using Streamlit or similar technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies, containerization, RESTful APIs, and user interface development.
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend solutions using Python frameworks.
  • Familiarity with relational database systems including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Proficiency with Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Hands-on full stack development experience and a strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clearance: Current TS/SCI Clearance with active or ability to obtain CI Polygraph is required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Citizenship: Due to US Government Contract requirements, only US Citizens are eligible.
  • Work location: Onsite in Crystal City, VA with optional CONUS travel.

Compensation

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250 per year. View information about benefits and the total rewards program.

Work Requirements

  • Years of experience: 10+ years of related experience (may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree).
  • Travel: 10-25%.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.
