Overview
We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, optimize, and deploy agentic AI and ML models for Verizon’s Consumer Group. The role focuses on translating architectural designs into reliable, high‑performing, production‑grade code that scales with customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and scale agentic AI/ML solutions, specialized workflows, and LLM‑powered systems for Verizon’s consumer platforms.
- Integrate AI agent frameworks with existing customer success, digital, and retail channel technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers and GTS engineering teams to implement and iterate production‑grade roadmaps.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and red‑teaming activities to ensure safe and reliable model behavior.
- Optimize inference pipelines, API endpoints, and data integration layers to meet high‑performance consumer demands.
- Support technical research and rapid prototyping to evaluate emerging open‑source and proprietary AI frameworks.
- Document technical specifications and create materials that demonstrate pilot performance results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years of work experience.
- 4+ years in relevant AI/ML roles, including applicable military experience.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience building and tuning AI/ML models or integrating LLM applications.
- Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile.
- Ability to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Where you’ll be working
This is a hybrid role based in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, combining remote work with in‑office days. The exact schedule includes a defined work location with a minimum of three days per week in the office, as determined by your manager. You will be expected to comply with Verizon’s hybrid work policies.
