Job Description

Centene Pharmacy Services is seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to design, build, and scale modern analytics pipelines that empower data-driven decision making. This onsite role in Florida centers on delivering production-grade data assets using Snowflake, dbt, GitLab, and Power BI, while collaborating closely with clinical, operational, and business stakeholders. A core focus of the position is mentoring teammates, establishing engineering standards, and continuously improving the analytics platform.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 87,000 – 161,300 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines that ingest external and internal data into Snowflake, including automation of file-based ingestion processes.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain dbt transformation workflows to produce curated, production-ready data models and tables.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, performance optimization, data quality, and pipeline reliability across the platform.
  • Develop and maintain Python- and SQL-based processes for data ingestion, validation, transformation, and monitoring.
  • Lead the implementation and management of GitLab for version control, code collaboration, and CI/CD processes across the analytics team.
  • Define and operationalize team standards for source control, code reviews, deployment workflows, and documentation.
  • Build, optimize, and own Power BI datasets, semantic models, and reporting layers to support scalable analytics and decision-making.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into technical solutions and communicate insights effectively.
  • Mentor and train team members on data engineering workflows, Snowflake, dbt, GitLab, and Power BI to enable shared ownership and reduce single points of failure.
  • Continuously improve platform architecture, tooling, and processes to support a scalable, maintainable, and modern analytics ecosystem.
  • Support expansion of Snowflake capabilities to enable advanced analytics and operational use cases.
  • Contribute to advanced analytical initiatives, including identifying cost-savings opportunities and generating insights from complex healthcare datasets.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with senior stakeholders and IT, produce presentation materials, and translate requirements into clear technical constructs.
  • Demonstrate expert data modeling skills to build tables and views, with awareness of data sources and limitations; familiarity with cloud analytics components such as Databricks, Data Mesh, Delta Lake, and Data Lakehouse.
  • Develop analytics code with robust version control and testing; may propose SDLC improvements; create test plans and templates; implement gold layer (medallion architecture) for supply chain needs.
  • Define departmental source code and documentation principles; oversee multiple code bases and gain broad exposure to products and domains.
  • Investigate and remediate defects, maintaining a low defect rate; own critical defects and define remediation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
