Job Description
Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer role focused on designing, testing, and integrating avionics electrical systems for hypersonic vehicles in an onsite Atlanta, GA environment.
Responsibilities
- Shape commercial supersonic and hypersonic flight by supporting the design, testing, and integration of GNC systems, electrical hardware, control software, power distribution, and RF communications.
- Operate as a system-level architect while maintaining deep expertise in specialized avionics electrical domains.
- Design and test custom electrical systems for both ground test and flight applications.
- Verify integration compatibility of designs across sub-system and integrated system levels.
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver control and instrumentation systems affecting engine, structural, hydraulic, and electrical subsystems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience across multiple of the following:
- Electrical hardware design
- Control systems
- Instrumentation and signal conditioning
- Digital communication busses
- Analog design and simulation
- Power electronics
- Harness design

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or similar disciplines.
- Project experience with embedded design, device integration, V&V, environmental qualification, and/or flight testing.
- Familiarity with test and simulation tools (DMM, Oscilloscope, power supplies, SPICE, Ansys).
- Experience with electrical and mechanical design and version control software (Altium Designer, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Capital Harness, Git, Teamcenter).
- Avionics devices and protocols experience (RS-485, ARINC-685, FPGAs, GPS, INS, D38999 style connectors, etc.).
- Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards: IPC-620, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-464D, DO-160G.
- Experience working with DC power systems (Batteries, Motors, Generators, etc.).
- Hands-on bias toward action.
- Engineering project team experience.
- Ability to travel on short notice to support test campaigns.
Compensation and Location
- Location: Atlanta, GA (onsite)
- Salary: USD 138,550 - 187,450 per year
