Job Description

Global Water Resources, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Development Services team in Maricopa, Arizona. The role is onsite and centers on plan reviews, supporting inspections, and serving as the construction engineering subject matter expert for the utility. The incumbent will guide inspectors, coordinate with external firms, and contribute to elevating internal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with municipal, county, state, and federal officials to align plans and priorities for current and future Development Services projects.
  • Update and maintain Global Water’s Design Guidelines and Specifications.
  • Review and approve developer-submitted infrastructure plans for utilities, ensuring alignment with Global Water Specifications and Details.
  • Develop and sustain policies governing office reviews, information storage and archival, and construction inspection activities.
  • Assess water and sewer reports and collaborate with engineering and planning teams to support long-range planning efforts.
  • Issue capacity assurance forms and maintain the master tracking sheet to confirm water availability for growth, in coordination with the Utility Planning Manager.
  • Assist with permitting activities with MCESD, ADEQ, municipalities, and other applicable agencies for developer-driven construction projects.
  • Manage contract engineering consultants as needed.
  • Monitor capacity and system usage affecting future development.
  • Provide direct support to the Field Inspection group regarding design and construction needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Arizona Driver's License – Required
  • Professional Engineer License – Required
  • PE license registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Federal and Arizona law, including regulations governing engineering practices
  • Understanding of water and wastewater utilities engineering design principles and practices
  • Foundation in hydrology and digital modeling of water, wastewater, and reclaimed systems using Bentley products
  • Familiarity with GIS technologies, including tools used by ADWR, USGS, and ADEQ
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and apply engineering standards, applicable federal and state rules, and company policies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, apply reasoned prioritization, and communicate concisely in verbal and written form

Experience

  • Civil engineering: 7 years (Required)

License and Certification

  • Arizona Driver's License (Required)

Location

Will report to Global Water Center in the City of Maricopa. Occasional travel to the Corporate Headquarters in North Phoenix and potential travel across the southern Arizona service territory as needed.
