Senior Civil Engineer
Job Description
Support mission-critical facilities at Kirtland AFB with a role focused on sustainment and lifecycle engineering support. This onsite Senior Civil Engineer position at ASRC Federal in Albuquerque, NM helps ensure infrastructure continues to support mission success, with work that spans from existing conditions investigation through construction completion and closeout.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the project lifecycle, from existing conditions investigation to conceptual design and ongoing technical touchpoints through construction start and completion.
- Evaluate project submittals to develop technical solutions and prepare modification packages.
- Review plans and detail drawings for new construction and maintenance, as well as removal or rearrangement of existing layouts and finishes.
- Participate in technical design reviews and requirements validation, supporting design development, analysis, and review activities.
- Recommend new or corrective measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.
- Assess and recommend approval of submittals while providing technical approach evaluations.
- Prepare and deliver presentations/briefings to KAFB government counterparts and clients.
- Capture and synthesize key inputs from interviews, focus groups, and internal meetings, then translate findings into draft deliverables and products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-certified program.
- Have or be able to obtain a Professional Civil Engineer License in one of the US states or territories within one year of hire date.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience, with preference for experience working at or for a military installation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in support of Air Force mission requirements in compliance with established DoD criteria.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
- Willingness and ability to work with customers and coworkers in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
- Valid US driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance; US Citizenship is required.
- Obtain and maintain required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the timeframe required by applicable contract(s).

Desired Qualifications
- Currently possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license in one of the US states or territories.
- Five or more years of experience working in the engineering section at a major military installation, preferably a US Air Force base.
