Senior Electrical Engineer

The Senior Electrical Engineer role is based onsite in Bedford, New Hampshire, and involves leading electrical and fire alarm system design projects, acting as the engineer of record, and driving business development while mentoring the design team.

Responsibilities

• Project and client management across a range of stakeholders including architects, design-build contractors, property managers, and building owners.
• Perform quality assurance on electrical calculations and plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Act as the engineer of record on the majority of electrical design projects.
• Identify and pursue new clients, develop business opportunities, and prepare proposals.
• Network with colleagues through professional and technical societies to stay connected with industry trends.
• Lead efforts to continually improve internal design techniques, approaches, and procedures, including selecting design software and calculation methods.
• Assist with the production of full electrical and fire alarm drawings using Revit.
• Coach and manage production engineers performing design and analysis tasks.
• Mentor younger staff to support professional development and growth within the team.
• Conduct feasibility studies and produce written reports to support decision making.
• Help building owners understand their facilities and opportunities to enhance existing systems.
• Engage directly with clients, contractors, and industry colleagues to align objectives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary design teams including engineers, architects, owners, and contractors to deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer license in New Hampshire, with reciprocity available across the Northeast.
• 10-15+ years of professional experience in building electrical design, including fire alarm and low voltage systems, for single-family, multi-family, industrial/manufacturing, and retail/restaurant projects.
• Experience spanning new building design and existing system analysis or modification; renovation expertise is a focus.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and standards such as NFPA 70, NFPA 72, NFPA 99, NFPA 101, and the IBC.
• Proficiency in electrical load calculations and design software, with solid spreadsheet skills.
• Experience modeling building systems in Revit is a plus.
• Experience modeling lighting systems is a plus.

Compensation

Salary: USD 90,000 - 130,000 per year
