Job Description

Liberty Mutual is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the USRM Servicing Technology team, building automated solutions that combine UiPath, AWS, and AI inside an Agile delivery environment. This hybrid role is based in Boston, MA, with expectations for U.S.-based employees to work two days in the office per week. You will help deliver scalable back-office automation for business groups while partnering closely with product and stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and support UiPath RPA bots that integrate with multiple systems to enable scalable automations for Distribution and Service back-office workflows
  • Build AI-driven solutions using UiPath IXP or AWS Bedrock to improve business processes and address complex operational challenges
  • Produce defect-free source code aligned to business requirements and Liberty standards
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and software issues, perform complex testing and support activities, and coordinate with IT staff or vendors as needed for resolution
  • Collaborate with other teams, your Product Owner, and Stakeholders to refine user stories at a deep technical level
  • Plan work appropriately and proactively escalate issues that could impact scope, schedule, or budget
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including refinement, planning, demos, and retros
  • Mentor new and junior developers and support team learning
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support remediation efforts during incident management events and provide consultative recommendations for viable resolutions
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and cost and report changes

What you bring

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Background in business operations and strategies, with focus on business IT
  • Experience translating client requirements into technical designs
  • Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset
  • Strong collaboration and adaptability with ability to manage time and prioritize work for a globally distributed development team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including explaining decision-making to non-engineers
  • Thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture, and technical standards, including shared software concepts and layered solutions
  • Proficiency across software engineering languages and tools across horizontal and vertical packages
  • Understanding of how system modifications affect different components, with ability to explain the reasoning to non-engineers
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience with UiPath and AWS services
  • Experience with AI services and coding assistants such as UiPath IXP, AWS Bedrock, and GitHub Copilot
  • Experience with API development using NodeJS and TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing
  • Strong experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and CloudWatch
  • 3+ years of UiPath experience
  • UiPath, AWS, or comparable certifications are a plus

Compensation: USD 106,000 - 197,000 per year.
