Job Description

The Senior FPGA Design Engineer role at Raytheon is an onsite opportunity in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on delivering FPGA solutions across multiple vendors, translating system requirements into FPGA implementations, and guiding project teams. A DoD Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Salary

USD 86,800 to 165,200 per year

Responsibilities

  • Design and release production-grade FPGA artifacts from concept through deployment
  • Architect FPGA based systems, outlining components, interfaces, and CONOPS
  • Convert system level requirements into concrete FPGA requirements
  • Develop and maintain code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability
  • Verify designs using self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random testing, and track functional and code coverage
  • Drive project progress and manage schedules to meet time and budget constraints
  • Lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
  • Support internal and external technical reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in FPGA or ASIC design with VHDL and/or Verilog, or FPGA/ASIC verification using SystemVerilog
  • Hands-on work with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and associated flow tools
  • Proven track record delivering FPGA/ASIC solutions for system-level applications
