Job Description

The Senior FPGA Engineer role in Bloomington, MN leads end-to-end FPGA development, covering definition, design, verification, and documentation. It offers a new hire sign-on bonus eligibility and requires U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a DoD Secret security clearance. A Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience is required, and Agile experience is preferred.

Compensation

Salary: USD 160,085 - 168,840 per year

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition, design, verification, and documentation for FPGA developments across the lifecycle
  • Determine architecture, conduct system simulation, and establish detailed design approaches
  • Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
  • Develop test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria
  • Verify test results and analyze performance
  • Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools as needed
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of work products such as plans, specifications, and design documentation for internal and external deliverables
  • Develop and present requirements, concepts, designs, decisions, and results to management, other organizations, teammates, and customers
  • May participate in technical subcontract management including SOW development, proposal evaluation, source selection, technical oversight, and subcontractor deliverable evaluation
  • Assess vendor capability to support product development
  • Apply a strong understanding of organizational processes throughout the program lifecycle
  • Participate in improving FPGA related processes
  • Support the generation of technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, and tools
  • Lead research and analysis of data to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Select components and equipment based on specifications and reliability
  • Contribute to the technical approach on small proposals
  • Provide leadership and direction to junior staff
  • Lead technical tasks for small teams or projects
  • Exercise latitude in defining technical objectives
  • Guide the successful completion of major programs and projects

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
  • 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of job-related experience
  • Agile experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance is required at time of hire
  • U.S. citizenship required
