Senior Industrial Software Engineer
Job Description
Senior Industrial Software Engineer in Milwaukee, WI (hybrid) develops modern industrial applications across OT and IT layers to enable Connected Enterprise and IIoT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support for company products and systems.
- Support sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance to ensure systems meet specifications.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding system software and applications.
- Deliver software development and consulting services to prospective users.
- Create mini-applications based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility, often via rapid prototyping.
- Develop applications using Logix Designer and FactoryTalk Optix.
- Build edge-to-cloud integrations using DataMosaix, Plex, and Fiix.
- Develop APIs, microservices, and modern web applications.
- Leverage time-series databases and data visualization tools.
- Extract and translate manufacturing system requirements into design specifications.
- Define architectures spanning from the Logix control layer to cloud environments.
- Align control data models with enterprise and cloud solutions.
- Apply cloud-native and event-driven architectural patterns.
- Promote OPC UA standards adoption across solutions.
- Design data models using Smart Objects, FT Optix, and FT DataMosaix.
- Integrate Logix, historian, and enterprise data streams.
- Promote analytics and predictive use cases to drive value.
- Utilize Logix Designer and FactoryTalk Design Studio for development tasks.
- Work with industrial automation systems including PLC, HMI, and SCADA environments.
- Leverage FactoryTalk Optix, DataMosaix, Plex, and Fiix to deliver integrated solutions.
- Translate complex architectures into actionable, implementable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in related engineering roles.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available now or in the future.
