Job Description
JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to steer the technical direction and architecture for secure, scalable market-leading technology products within the Commercial and Investment Bank Equities team. This onsite role in Jersey City, NJ offers a broad remit across leadership and hands-on delivery, with a salary range of USD 152,000 to 215,000 per year. A key focus is guiding a greenfield initiative to transform the storage and access of loan-related legal documents, using AI to enhance users' analytical capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing technical guidance to support the business units, engineering teams, contractors, and external vendors.
- Lead the delivery of a greenfield initiative to transform how loan-related legal documents are stored and accessed, leveraging AI to uplift users' analysis capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Trading, QR, Operations, and global teams to ensure loan management platforms deliver a world-class experience for internal users and clients.
- Direct efforts to re-engineer and re-architect existing platforms to achieve high performance, availability, stability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Identify and implement solutions for recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead design and architecture discussions to leverage new and emerging technologies for complex business needs.
- Provide leadership, support, and clear direction to globally distributed team members to enhance overall team performance.
- Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide SDLC frameworks, tooling, and practices.
- Foster a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering, with at least five years of hands-on experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and React.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with advanced proficiency.
- Strong grasp of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and system integration.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal supervision.
- Degree-level education preferred in computer science, mathematics, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
