Job Description

Senior Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase's AI/ML Data Platform in Plano, TX (onsite) to lead an agile team in building, enhancing, and delivering trusted technology products with measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing technical leadership to the business, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to align on objectives and execution.
  • Produce secure, high quality production code and conduct reviews and debugging of peers’ work.
  • Lead adoption and governance of enterprise AI assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, speed of delivery, and operations; implement validation standards (secure coding, peer reviews, automated testing) and promote reuse of proven patterns within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
  • Leverage the SDLC toolchain and approved AI assisted development and automation capabilities to maximize automation value at scale.
  • Define release processes to accelerate feature delivery within Snowflake and remove bottlenecks.
  • Shape product design, application functionality, and technical operations through informed decision making.
  • Act as a function wide subject matter expert in designated focus areas.
  • Contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
  • Deliver innovative software solutions, handle design and development, and troubleshoot beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Develop secure, high quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; proven experience coaching senior engineers on compliant usage patterns and controls.
  • Proven ability to lead effective use of enterprise authorized AI assisted software development tools (coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) and set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Ability to independently address design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight.
  • Hands on cloud native experience on AWS.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • In depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
