Senior Level Software Engineer - SPLUNK
Job Description
A senior level software engineer specializing in SPLUNK data integration and reporting, coordinating enterprise SPLUNK data sources and collaborating with applications to optimize data flow.
Responsibilities
- Translate user needs into software design and performance targets
- Develop new software or modify existing code to add features
- Identify and fix defects in current software
- Integrate existing software into updated systems or different operating environments
- Create straightforward data queries for current databases or data stores
- Suggest improvements to documentation and software development process standards
- Develop or implement algorithms to meet or surpass performance and functional standards
- Assist in creating and executing test procedures for software components
- Produce or review software and system documentation
- Design solutions by analyzing performance standards, consulting with users or system engineers, and examining workflows and data usage
- Modify software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware, or enhance performance
- Design, develop, and refine software systems using analytical methods and mathematical models
- Design or implement complex database interfaces and data repository queries
- Lead one or more software development teams and ensure alignment with project processes
- Design and implement sophisticated algorithms within strict timing and resource constraints; perform quality control on team outputs
- Consult with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and understand project limits and interfaces
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment operation to meet specifications
- Apply recommendations to improve documentation and software development process standards
Requirements
- Experience: at least 3 years with SPLUNK
- Experience: at least 3 years in C++
- Java: 14+ years of relevant Java programming, including at least 2 years with Java 1.7+ and development of presentation tiers
- Spring & JavaScript: 2+ years
- JSP & Servlets: 5+ years
- JEE and enterprise web application design/development: 5+ years
- RESTful applications design and development: 5+ years
- Ability to deploy applications in an Apache Tomcat web server
- 1+ years of experience with JavaScript presentation libraries such as jQuery, Angular, or ExtJS
- 1+ years of MongoDB and Apache Camel is desirable
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Experience: Minimum 19 years of relevant work experience

Compensation
- USD 200,000 - 275,000 per year
