Senior Machining Process Engineer

Onsite in Carson City, Nevada with a competitive annual salary range of USD 99,360 to 120,000. Chromalloy invites applications for a Senior Machining Process Engineer. This role provides technical and production support for gas turbine systems, focusing on developing and optimizing CNC machining processes, fixtures, and tooling. The position leads project teams, applies Lean and continuous improvement practices, and partners with Engineering to advance new parts and cutting edge technology implementations.

Responsibilities

• Develop fixturing, tooling, and CNC programs for milling and grinding of turbine components
• Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure flawless production and part quality
• Apply continuous improvement and Lean tools to optimize processes; identify and implement tooling and equipment improvements
• Lead project teams working on new designs, repairs, and process enhancements
• Use project management skills to drive successful outcomes within technical, budgetary, and schedule requirements
• Engage with the Chromalloy Engineering team to develop new parts, repairs, and cutting edge technologies
• Implement innovative methods that positively impact business metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 5+ years of experience as an engineer in the aerospace or industrial gas turbine engine mechanical design discipline
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• 3D CAD modeling and CAM programming experience, Siemens NX preferred
• Experience with multi-axis milling and grinding; Okuma experience preferred
• Familiarity with continuous improvement, Lean tools and methodologies, and strong project management skills
• Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment and a track record of delivering results
• Knowledge of FAA guidelines for PMA and RS-DER requirements is a plus
