Senior Power Systems Consulting Engineer
Job Description
As a Senior Power Systems Consulting Engineer within SEL Engineering Services, you will deliver solutions that protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems on a global scale, contributing to engineering services across diverse projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship to engineers, specialists, and technicians across teams.
- Serve as the technical authority for the design and deployment of SEL equipment and solutions within a defined focus area.
- Engage in research, innovation, and development of new solutions and processes.
- Oversee scopes, budgets, and schedules for assigned work, ensuring top quality.
- Manage projects end to end and coordinate related activities.
- Develop and refine internal processes to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Lead training initiatives to elevate team competencies.
- Assist customers through the lifecycle of engineered solutions, including design, configuration, validation, review, installation, commissioning, and operational use.
- Provide leadership in environmental, health and safety practices, maintain a safe workplace, promote safety training, conduct investigations, and implement safe and environmentally sound work practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or an applicable discipline.
- Eight or more years of experience with electric power systems or equivalent transferable expertise.
- Strong expert knowledge in Power Systems Consulting within the focus area.
- Excellent technical training and skills.
- Willingness to travel at least 25 percent of the time.
- Experience supervising teams or projects.
- Background in electrical utilities, consulting, or system integration.
- Extensive experience with power systems and customer interactions.
- Working knowledge of Vision or other project tracking software.
- Professional Engineer license is highly preferred.

Salary
Salary range: USD 136,100 to 170,300 annually. Ranges may vary based on level, responsibilities, experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We review candidates with differing levels of experience, and starting pay may differ accordingly.
