Job Description
The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, modernize, and sustain enterprise applications that support the agency’s mission. This onsite role in Macon, Georgia offers a competitive salary range and requires foundational hands-on experience to guide complex systems through modernization while upholding federal IT and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and evolve enterprise application systems to meet mission-critical requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, shaping engineering approaches, standards, and delivery strategies.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, to enhance functionality and organizational effectiveness.
- Resolve cross-system issues related to architecture, integration, performance, security, and interoperability for major systems.
- Develop technical roadmaps, standards, design principles, and integration strategies for application portfolios.
- Convey technical recommendations, risks, and modernization plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure development and integration activities comply with federal IT, cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance requirements.
