Senior Software Engineer

ASD seeks a Senior Software Engineer to support the GSMS SW IPT on-site in a SCIF located in Redondo Beach, California. The role emphasizes development and sustainment of mission-operational software across subsystems and is offered as a contract position.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a C++ software developer within an agile team operating on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, including VMs, servers, and workstations.
• Design, implement, and unit test new software capabilities in alignment with Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
• Identify, troubleshoot, and deliver fixes for software issues and process discrepancies through Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
• Collaborate with SW IPT subject matter experts and senior staff engineers across multiple software subsystems.

Requirements

• PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 to 4 years of related experience
• Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 to 6 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 to 8 years of related experience
• An additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Active SSBI at the time of application and the ability to obtain SCI prior to the start date
• Advanced object-oriented programming skills with proficiency in C++
• Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
• Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
• U.S. citizenship is required
