Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
Join Walmart in Bellevue, WA (onsite) and help deliver high-quality software that supports real customer and business outcomes. This role combines end-to-end engineering with AI and ML integration, with a focus on scalable solutions, operational excellence, and measurable performance improvements. You’ll work with collaborative teams to turn complex requirements into production-ready features and services.
Responsibilities
- Own delivery of scoped features and model-related work through collaborative engineering teams, including implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support.
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages while driving the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence using internal and external APIs.
- Translate high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
- Perform code reviews, debugging, and defect management to support software quality and performance.
- Partner with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor application performance and drive continuous improvement using proactive testing and observability.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
- Strong technical acumen with experience in code review, debugging, and continuous development.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features or models through collaborative engineering teams.
- Proficiency in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring.
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with business goals.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 5 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area plus 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background creating inclusive digital experiences, including knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating accessibility into digital experiences.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience aligning work to accessibility standards and guidelines supporting an inclusive culture.

Compensation and Location
Salary range: USD 108,000 - 216,000 per year.
Primary location: 10900 NE 4th St, Bellevue, WA 98004, United States of America.
Work mode: Onsite.
