Job Description

Build machine vision software that supports automated inspection and metrology for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and implement robust machine vision algorithms using MVTec HALCON and C++ for defect detection, alignment, metrology, and 2D/3D inspection
  • Develop clean, maintainable, high-performance C++ applications that run in multi-threaded, multi-process real-time environments on Windows or Linux
  • Integrate and interface vision software with industrial hardware including GigE cameras, frame grabbers, optics, and specialized lighting systems
  • Create and calibrate high-precision coordinate transformation matrices (pixel-to-world) to deliver micron-level spatial accuracy
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and automation engineers to test, debug, and validate vision systems on real manufacturing tools
  • Support installation, deployment, and validation efforts requiring domestic and international travel up to 30%

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on machine vision software development experience in the semiconductor or high-precision electronics manufacturing industry
  • Strong C++ skills, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and memory management
  • Production-level experience with MVTec HALCON, including HDevEngine and/or HALCON/C++ integration
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing workflows such as wafer inspection, die bonding, wire bonding, or packaging
  • Experience applying software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
  • Background in digital image processing, matrix mathematics, 2D/3D geometry, and camera calibration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
