Advanced Software Engineer – C++ / Digital Logic Design

Join Siemens EDA in the Hardware Assisted Verification (HAV) division to help build and enhance an emulator compiler for analyzing customer designs and mapping them onto emulator resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the compiler component that analyzes customer designs for mapping to emulator resources.
• Analyze clock and data networks to enable partitioning, placing, and synthesis of logic for emulator mapping.
• Contribute to design and implementation of new functionality for this compiler area, while providing support for existing functionality.
• Create system-level tests that use software simulation and develop new testing methods.
• Collaborate with other software teams and Veloce hardware teams in an international, multi-site environment.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 2 to 5 years of industry software development experience building large C++ applications as part of a team.
• Demonstrated experience designing algorithms and data structures.
• Understanding of gate level digital logic design.
• Ability to perform effectively in both team-oriented development and independent work.

Desired skills

• Experience in EDA software development, especially in timing analysis, synthesis, and design partition or placement (plus).
• Software engineering experience using Unix/Linux operating systems.

• Experience using software simulation tools such as Modelsim.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or SH script would be useful.

Salary: USD 109,800 to 197,700 per year

• Target incentive: 5-8% of base salary.
• Actual wage may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and:
