Senior Software Engineer – Python & Rust Mission Applications

CTRL + LLC is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain mission application software, working with Python and expanding capabilities into Rust. This role is based on-site in Fort Meade, MD and requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Location and Work Arrangement

• Work location: Fort Meade, MD
• Work arrangement: On-site
• In-person requirement: All positions require in-person work, and applicants must live within commuting distance of the listed location to be considered.

Some roles may allow limited telework, but regular on-site attendance is required. These are not fully remote positions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and troubleshoot mission application software
• Integrate applications with COTS, GOTS, and open-source libraries
• Deploy containerized services to Kubernetes using Helm
• Work with MongoDB and messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ
• Automate builds and deployments using GitLab CI and Ansible

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 7 years of relevant experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Linux command-line tools
• Bash scripting
• Recent development experience with Python 3
• Rust experience, or the aptitude and willingness to learn Rust
• MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Docker, containerd, and Kubernetes
• Helm chart development
• RabbitMQ or similar messaging frameworks
• GitLab CI, Ansible, and Git

Security Clearance Requirements

• Required clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph
• Applicants must currently hold an active TS/SCI with polygraph
• Ctrl+ does not sponsor new security clearances or clearance upgrades
• Applicants who do not meet this requirement cannot be considered

Compensation

• Hourly pay range: $123.63–$136.51 per hour (approximate)
• Employer 401(k): 10% employer 401(k) non-elective contribution (additional to hourly pay)
• Compensation models: Max Rate, With Bonus, or With Bonus and PTO
• Pay range notes: The listed range reflects approximate hourly pay across compensation models and excludes Ctrl+'s employer 401(k) contribution.

PTO and bonuses depend on the selected model and role eligibility. The lower end reflects a no-bonus option with five weeks of PTO, and the upper end reflects the Max Rate option without bonus or PTO.
