Senior Software Engineer - Radar Modeling and Simulation

Senior Software Engineer in Lockheed Martin's Radar Modeling and Simulation group, onsite in Camden, NJ, focusing on high performance C++ software for radar modeling, scene modeling, signal construction and processing, and radar control processing within simulation and digital twin environments, with mentoring and technical leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the technical lead and software or systems architects to guide design and integration decisions while performing hands-on C++ development.
• Design, implement, and maintain high performance C++ software for radar modeling, scene modeling, signal construction and processing, and radar control processing components.
• Actively participate in design and code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement and product quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote systems thinking across the team.
• Lead translating customer needs into actionable Agile tasks, and participate in sprint planning, story breakdowns, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
• Verify and interpret software changes, including regression testing, to ensure modifications produce the intended system behavior.
• Analyze system-level data to build confidence before delivering solutions to customers and downstream teams.
• Maintain and improve legacy codebases by applying and promoting software engineering best practices.
• Serve as a technical liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support automation, regression testing, and tooling improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with C++ or other object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C#.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level; U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: USD 91,000 - 172,488 per year
