Senior Software Engineer - SS&C EVOLV
Job Description
SS&C Technologies is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a remote role based in Virginia. In this position, you will build full-stack web applications and deploy AI-driven capabilities that support enterprise financial workloads, with a focus on secure integrations, scalable architectures, and production-ready AI.
The work spans modern frontend and backend development, microservices and event-driven systems, and production AI integrations using leading large language model platforms. You will collaborate across Product Management, Solution Architecture, Data Engineering, Security, and business stakeholders to turn business requirements into technical solutions while maintaining enterprise security, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Nest.js, Node.js, and Angular.
- Create reusable frontend components and responsive user experiences aligned with enterprise UX standards.
- Develop backend microservices and APIs supporting high-volume financial workloads.
- Integrate Large Language Models (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or comparable platforms) into production applications.
- Build intelligent assistants, copilots, workflow automation tools, and conversational experiences.
- Apply prompt engineering, model evaluation, guardrails, and SS&C AI governance best practices.
- Implement semantic search using embeddings, metadata filtering, and hybrid search techniques.
- Improve response quality through continuous tuning, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Develop secure RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and event-driven integrations.
- Design scalable microservices architecture patterns and agent-based workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks.
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and third-party financial platforms.
- Design multi-step workflows capable of performing complex business operations.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SSO, and ensure alignment with enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Support compliance requirements related to SOC 2, SOX, GDPR, and applicable financial regulatory frameworks.
- Apply responsible AI practices, data privacy controls, and model governance standards.
- Deploy and manage workloads on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and Kubernetes-based deployments.
- Monitor application performance, AI costs, reliability, and operational metrics.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, and Python.
- Experience with Angular, Micro Frontends, and modern frontend architecture.
- Experience with Node.js, Nest.js, Java (Spring and JPA frameworks), FastAPI, or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience with REST API/microservices, large-scale data processing, event-driven architecture using Kafka/Pulsar, and Spark.
- Experience with ELT/ETL, relational/NoSQL DBMS, vector databases, and cloud data platform integrations such as dbt, Dagster, Airbyte, and Snowflake.
- CI/CD and infrastructure/containerization using GitHub, Jenkins, ArgoCd, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Distributed tracing and metrics logging using Splunk, Grafana, Loki, and Prometheus (or similar).
- Hands-on experience with AI tooling such as Claude Code, GraphRAG/Advanced RAG, Model Context Protocol (MCP), LangChain/LangGraph, pgvector/Pinecone, and evaluation/observability tools including DeepEval/Ragas/Arize Phoenix and LangSmith/Langfuse (or equivalent tooling).
- 5+ years of software engineering experience across frontend and backend development.
- Hands-on experience implementing AI-powered applications in production environments and building enterprise-grade solutions for critical business processes.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, along with strong verbal and written communication.
- A passion for staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Preferred/Desirable

Location and Salary
- Location: Remote (Virginia)
- Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 per year
- Base salary expected: between 140000 USD and 160000 USD
