Senior Transportation Engineer - Roadway
Job Description
Olsson is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer - Roadway to lead high level roadway design, QA/QC, and project leadership on transportation projects in the St. Louis area. The role is based onsite in Fenton, Missouri, blending technical excellence with mentorship and client-relations duties to deliver quality infrastructure outcomes.
As a senior member of Olsson's Roadway team, you'll drive design for urban and rural highways, interchanges, and municipal roadways, while guiding standards development and supporting staff growth within a collaborative, results-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-level project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects.
- Serves as a technical specialist, applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
- Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives.
- Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
- Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
- Works collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work.
- Contributes to the development of standards and/or guidelines for engineering activities within the team.
- Supervises, mentors, and reviews technical assignments of less experienced staff.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Project management experience including scope, schedule, and budget control.
- 8+ years of experience in highway or municipal design.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
