Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer
Job Description
Arcadis seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join the Resilience Water Team in Clifton Park, New York. The role centers on leading municipal water and wastewater initiatives, with opportunities for growth and direct client engagement throughout project lifecycles.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support the development of water and wastewater projects.
- Collaborate with a team that helps clients achieve objectives by delivering innovative and effective solutions using state-of-the-art practices and technologies.
- Steer water and wastewater projects with the backing of a highly qualified municipal consulting firm.
- Manage tasks and client expectations across the planning, design, and construction of distribution and collection systems.
- Prepare construction documents and specifications, and oversee construction administration.
- Maintain a client-facing role, working directly with clients to identify needs, develop strategies, provide solutions, and manage expectations to achieve outcomes.
- Play a key role in planning, management, and delivery of planning and design projects.
- Develop relationships or provide guidance on potential pursuits.
- Support account teams in identifying, tracking, and positioning for opportunities as needed.
- Develop scopes of work and budgets as part of project planning.
- As a senior team member, supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Participate in grant writing and GIS mapping/analysis as part of project work.
Leadership and Account Development
- Establish and nurture relationships to guide pursuits and strategic opportunities.
- Assist account teams in identifying and pursuing municipal opportunities, including defining scopes and budgeting.
Supervision and Mentoring
- Provide supervision and support to team members, including mentoring junior staff.
Additional Responsibilities
- Involvement in grant writing and GIS mapping/analysis to support project outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant engineering experience in conveyance system investigations and rehabilitation
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience
- Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Project management experience on municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater projects of various sizes
- Client relationships/experience with local municipalities
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro
- P.E. License
Location
New York State, onsite. Role anchored in the Clifton Park area with work conducted in municipal markets within the state.
Compensation
Salary in the range of USD 100,000 – 140,000 per year.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical).
