Service Engineer
Job Description
StandardAero is seeking a Service Engineer to support the maintenance, repair and overhaul of gas turbine engines used in flight applications. This onsite role in Dallas, TX positions you as the technical expert for assigned engine models, responsible for developing essential process documentation and driving continuous improvements to meet reliability, performance and compliance goals. Candidates typically hold a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and bring a minimum of three years of aerospace experience, with jet engine overhaul or manufacturing exposure preferred.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop applicable work scopes for service activities.
- Oversee configuration control and management processes.
- Document and report service investigations.
- Review and verify critical processes for accuracy and compliance.
- Assess nonconforming material from a technical perspective.
- Create and manage technical documentation and records.
- Support business unit goals, turn-around time targets, cost of poor quality and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct fact-finding and containment for initial incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain the technical liaison between the engine manufacturer and the business unit.
- Provide technical support for new product introductions.
- Offer technical assistance and guidance for engine testing and performance.
- Ensure adherence to all safety requirements and promptly report any unsafe practices or conditions.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for customers and mobile repair teams.
- Carry out special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited program, or related experience.
- At least three years of aerospace experience, with jet engine overhaul or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer software systems.
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine engine theory is highly preferred.
- Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Experience with Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
- Familiarity with US Government or commercial maintenance manuals.
- Experience participating in accident investigations.
- Solid project planning and organizational skills with the ability to complete projects on schedule with limited supervision.
- Familiarity with navigating jet engine OEM manuals is desired.
- Flexible schedule to provide after-hours support.
- Ability to complete an assigned Training Development Plan within three years or less.
- Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred characteristics
