Job Description

Join a team building mission-critical software products for aviation, defense, energy, and other critical infrastructure sectors. This Senior Software Engineer role in Boston, MA (onsite) focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing high-performance decision-support systems using modern technologies including Python, Rust, and LLM/AI-assisted development tools. You will have the opportunity to shape both new builds from concept to production and long-term scaling of existing products, while helping set engineering standards and best practices.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and launch innovative software products from 0 to 1 through production.
  • Enhance and scale established products as they grow from 1 to n.
  • Collaborate with engineers, deployment strategists, and end users to deliver software that meets real operational needs.
  • Develop high-performance systems to address complex operational challenges.
  • Establish engineering standards and best practices to support sustainable engineering excellence.
  • Build decision-support tools that deliver measurable impact for customers.
  • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, deployment, and optimization.

What you bring

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
  • Strong ability to learn and work with Python and Rust quickly.
  • Experience leveraging modern LLM and AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working across multiple teams.
  • Ability to take ownership and work independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Additional information

This role involves work with export-controlled technology and restricted U.S. Government data. Employment offers are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining all required authorizations and approvals necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.

Salary: $160,000 - $210,000 Base Salary

Location: Boston, MA (onsite)
