Job Description

Dauch is hiring a Software Engineer to join its team in Newton, NC (onsite). In this role, you will design and develop applications and systems, help perform business and software analysis, and support ongoing system maintenance as needed. The position also includes monitoring defects, maintaining process documentation, tracking risks and issues, and contributing to engineering solution design and improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of existing and new applications by analyzing current capabilities and identifying modification and improvement opportunities; help develop new applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor and identify software defects, and suggest corrections for approval to keep application software fully functional.
  • Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve software quality and the supporting infrastructure for better alignment with user needs.
  • Provide fault isolation and resolution for complex issues to limit impact and address problems promptly.
  • Produce accurate reports by collecting data from standard sources and entering it into standard formats.
  • Document both “as is” and “to be” processes, including the changes needed to migrate to the “to be” capability so the change requirements can be recorded accurately.
  • Implement improvements, provide feedback, and use change management systems and protocols to deliver routine support services.
  • Interpret data to identify possible answers while navigating a range of processes, procedures, and precedents.
  • Contribute to engineering solution design, including designing the feasibility testing approach and supervising its implementation to support development and validation.
  • Review operations in your area of work and support generating new ideas to identify continuous improvements.
  • Participate in product development and engineering activities by using established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
  • Support risk and issue management by maintaining and distributing project/program risk registers and issue logs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or another related field.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a Manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Experience with CAN bus communication.
