Software Engineer

ACQCENTRIC INC is hiring a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL for an onsite role supporting the Missile Defense Agency Next Generation Software Office. The position focuses on accelerating and modernizing development, integration, and delivery of resilient and secure Missile Defense System software, including on-demand and cloud-based capabilities.

This role involves technical analysis and engineering support across system of systems development, integration, and testing, with an emphasis on enabling secure, repeatable software delivery in cloud and hardware-in-the-loop environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering analysis to support development of on-demand and cloud-based software for system of systems development, integration, and testing.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance.
• Masters degree in a STEM field, with 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
• Experience with design, development, and management of software libraries and cloud-based software architectures and requirements.
• Experience with hardware in the loop (HWIL) and cloud-based testing to support software development and delivery.
• Experience managing and reviewing application programming interfaces and interface control documents, including enabling software used in cloud-based and HWIL environments.
• Experience with artificial intelligence development, tooling, and agentic operations.
• Ability to work independently, as a team member, or lead teams and tasks while applying engineering rigor to solve engineering and scientific problems.

Desired Skills

• Cloud and containerization: Practical experience with containerization concepts such as Docker and Kubernetes, experience migrating legacy enterprise applications to cloud-native architectures, and hands-on work with AWS/Azure.
• Agile and DevSecOps: Working knowledge of Agile and Lean software development within a secure DoD DevSecOps framework.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of or experience deploying IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible to create reproducible, auditable, and secure cloud environments.
• Configuration management and version control: Experience using modern configuration management and version control platforms such as Git to support policy-as-code, baseline management, and compliance configuration.
• Clearance: Top Secret clearance or ability to qualify for one.
