Software Engineer 3

Base-2 Solutions is supporting the NMEC DOMEX Technology Platform and D3P Modernization effort and needs a Software Engineer 3 onsite in Bethesda, MD.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture running on Kubernetes with Elasticsearch backend and Kafka messaging
• Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes
• Design, develop, and support scalable and redundant infrastructure across physical and virtualized environments
• Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new feature requirements
• Collaborate with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams
• Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions, and related meetings

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the category field
• Education substitution: three additional years of experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree
• Strong Linux proficiency
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating systems at scale
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, or Java
• Experience supporting enterprise or production systems
• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems
• Experience with Kubernetes monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana
• Familiarity with GPU-based Kubernetes, SALT for deployment automation, Helm/Helmfile, and Nexus
