Software Engineer 4

Base-2 Solutions supports mission-focused engineering work through a modern, containerized platform. This role centers on building and operating a full-stack microservices architecture that powers production big data pipelines on Kubernetes using Elasticsearch and Kafka. You will partner across engineering disciplines in an environment that values collaboration, disciplined delivery, and dependable operations.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture running on Kubernetes with an Elasticsearch backend and Kafka messaging.
• Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes.
• Design, develop, and support scalable and redundant infrastructure across both physical and virtualized environments.
• Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments in support of new feature requirements.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams to support platform needs.
• Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions, and related meetings.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the category field.
• Strong Linux proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating systems at scale.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, or Java.
• Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems, Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, GPU-based Kubernetes, SALT for deployment automation, Helm/Helmfile, and Nexus.
