Software Engineer II

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is hiring a Software Engineer II for an onsite role in Alpharetta, GA. In this position, you will complete moderate complexity research, design, and software development work within a defined software functional area or product line, supporting delivery across product requirements and development execution.

This role involves translating requirements into software designs, implementing and validating changes, and addressing technical issues while working in development environments such as Agile and Waterfall. The compensation range for this position is USD 71,600 - 119,400 per year.

Core Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for development of moderate complexity system components.
• Complete simple bug fixes.
• Collaborate with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Operate in different development environments, including Agile and Waterfall, while partnering with key stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues as necessary.
• Keep current with new technology developments.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 1+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with data manipulation languages.
• Ability to work with simple data models.
• Proficiency in development languages, including: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
• Familiarity with industry best practices, including code coverage.
• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages and data storage subsystems.
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
• Basic oral and written communications skills.
