Software Engineer III

Software Engineer III at Google in Mountain View, CA, onsite, contributes to Discover Ads Formats by building product and system software and supporting large-scale ads infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.
• Review code written by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices, including style guidelines, code check-in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve by analyzing root causes and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience in Python or C++.
• 1 year of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience working on video playback across iOS or Android.
• Experience with full-stack development.
