Responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and sustain software for naval platforms.
- Engage in design and code reviews, troubleshoot defects, optimize software performance, and develop algorithms.
- Offer network architecture engineering support through review and analysis, model-based systems engineering, and creation of engineering documents for network and information systems, including system assessment and authorization activities.
- Evaluate and contribute to a proposed System of Systems architecture framework in accordance with guidelines for ashore or afloat baselines.
- Review SoS designs, identify software vulnerabilities and manage risk to meet cybersecurity and unmanned vehicle mission requirements.
- Identify defects in software systems and propose mitigations.
- Assist software integration activities within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience in computer or software engineering on comparable systems.
- Experience supporting complex IT systems in a naval environment.
- Experience with unmanned systems architecture.
- Experience applying programming concepts in professional or academic contexts.
- Experience applying modern software development methodologies such as Agile or DevOps/DevSecOps in professional or academic settings.
- Experience testing and debugging software components, validating results, and analyzing runtime profiles to diagnose errors.
- Experience integrating software units and components to deliver integrated software items aligned with design.
- Proficiency with one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.

Security Clearance
- Eligibility to hold an active DoD SECRET security clearance is required.
Educational & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or Marine Engineering.
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.
- Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
