Software Engineer New College Grad (Bachelor's)

Applied Materials is hiring a Software Engineer New College Grad to join a team building software for semiconductor equipment components and devices. This onsite role is based in Gloucester, MA and is set to begin in Summer 2027. The position focuses on designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions, along with the documentation and testing needed to support real equipment needs.

You will work with internal customers to understand project requirements and translate them into software that can be tested, maintained, and improved. The role is intended for a new college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and practical proficiency in core software languages and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and develop software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices with limited complexity
• Develop software documentation and test procedures
• Troubleshoot software problems of limited difficulty
• Communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements
• Role begins in Summer 2027

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as computer science, software/system engineering, cyber security, or mathematics
• Familiarity with basic theories and concepts of software engineering
• Proficiency in C#, C/C++, .Net
