Job Description

Parsons is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with TS/SCI clearance to lead advanced software development for national-defense cyber programs. This on-site role spans multiple locations, including Centreville and Herndon, VA; Columbia, MD; Augusta, GA; and San Antonio, TX, with quarterly travel. The position centers on designing and delivering secure software tools, vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and product development within agile teams.

Compensation ranges from USD 125,100 to 225,200 per year. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement software for new tools and capabilities in areas related to computer security, vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and product development.
  • Develop and maintain low-level applications and operating system projects tied to software protection and host-based personal security tools.
  • Review system architecture and select and implement development and support tools to ensure product performance, then test and debug related software.
  • Provide customers with expertise to leverage existing software and create new capabilities.
  • Participate in rapid reaction development with opportunities for direct customer interaction
  • Collaborate with a team focused on delivering superior products and fostering career growth for its members.
  • Operate as a customer-focused self-starter, eager to learn, mentor, and excel in Agile team environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; additional experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Minimum 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in C and C++.
  • Strong Windows foundation and knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Git.
  • Ability to generate accurate documentation for developed software.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a remote team.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
