Job Description
Join Rad Hires to build SDK tooling and improve developer experiences across multiple languages. This on-site, full-time Software Engineer, SDK role in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY focuses on open-source compiler work and SDK generation, with opportunities to contribute as either an SDK Generalist or an SDK Language Specialist.
What you’ll work on
- Deliver feature parity across SDKs, including support for advanced capabilities such as auto-pagination and server-sent events.
- Expand SDK coverage to new languages by building new generators (example languages include Swift, Rust, and Terraform).
- Contribute across multiple codebases using TypeScript, Go, and Python.
- Define what “high-quality” looks like for your language: idiomatic usage, ease of use, and reliability.
- Own core components of the open-source compiler to add key features and strengthen developer experience.
- Stay current on language-specific tools and libraries, and engage with developers through GitHub and community forums.
- Support team growth by contributing to hiring and mentorship as the organization scales, in partnership with leadership.
What you bring
- 4–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in one of: Java, PHP, Python, TypeScript, or Ruby (for language specialists).
- Broad technical fluency to contribute across different languages (for generalists).
- Experience working in fast-paced startup environments; founder experience is a plus.
- Strong product thinking and empathy for developer experience.
- Eagerness to work in a polyglot environment.
Compensation & location
Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY (on-site, full-time)
Salary: $170,000–$230,000 per year
Equity: 0.1%–0.3%
Living proximity bonus: $18K annually for those living near the office
Generalists: $170K–$200K base salary + equity + $18K bonus
Language Specialists: $200K–$230K base salary + equity + $18K bonus
VISA sponsorship: Not currently offered (may consider exceptional candidates)
